SPECIAL EDUCATION TRAINER (COMMUNITY CARE & SUPPORT)
Job Description:
- Work within the space and budget allocated to set up the training facilities to industrial standards; liaise with potential equipment sponsor/s where applicable
- Liaise with ITE to ensure the school meets the criteria to be licenced as an Approved Training Centre (ATC) to offer the ITE Skills Certificate (ISC) in Community Care & Support
- Develop the Schemes of Work (SOW), lesson plans and assessment tasks based on the Skills Standard and Assessment Scheme stipulated by ITE
- Design effective resources (e.g., workbook) and meaningful activities to support lesson delivery; use a varied choice of instructional aids and ICT to cater to different levels of learning abilities
- Carry out assessments equitably and in accordance to ITE’s requirements, both in school and during students’ On-the-Job Training (OJT) at industrial worksites
- Contribute to annual curriculum standardization with other schools offering the same ISC
- Monitor students’ attendance, progress and achievements through appropriate documentation and record keeping
- Collaborate with students’ Form Teachers and Allied Health Professionals, when applicable, to implement intervention (e.g., video for home practice, identify needs in fine and gross motor skills)
- Act as professional mentor and be a role model by inculcating positive values and work-readiness skills and habits to students
Requirements:
- Diploma in Community Care, Healthcare, Nursing or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in Community Care, Healthcare, Nursing or related industries
- Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA) and/or Advanced Certificate in Technical Education Pedagogy (ACTEP) are an advantage
- Experience teaching students with Special Learning Needs would be an added advantage
- Good team player with strong communication and inter-personal skills
