Metta Education
Our philosophy is that every student can learn and be empowered differently to lead meaningful lives.
We believe in holistic education; development of students spanning from cognitive, social-emotional, physical to building of leadership skills and cultivating of aesthetic interests. Adopting a person-centred approach, students are placed in different programmes which best meet their needs, as detailed in their Individual Education / Transition Plan (IEP / ITP). School-wide programmes, rooted in values, build character and support every student who is ready to transition between programmes, as well as towards his post-school goals upon graduation.
As a vocational school offering certification and non-certification programmes, our school aims to prepare our graduates to contribute productively to their families and the society. In the junior years (7 to 12 years old), our key focus is to equip students with foundational skills which are necessary for learning success in productive contribution. In the senior years (13 to 16 years old), students are progressively being exposed to the concept of productive contribution, including the World-of-Work, work-readiness skills and voluntary work. At 17 years old, students are matched to their specific paths to develop skills, with the aim of realising their post-school goals.
We believe that our staff aspire to grow professionally and be quality teachers who can bring out the best in our learners. The school is committed to develop our staff competencies in special education. Through professional development and mentoring programmes, staff are encouraged to be lifelong learners who seek continuous improvement in everything we do and stay relevant in changing times.
