The 20th Anniversary Logo is designed by our Art Teacher, Mr Alan Toh. It is made up of the number 20, Metta School name in both Chinese and English, in the shape of a full bloom lotus.
On 17 April, the school launched our 20th Anniversary Commemorative Magazine. On this happy occasion, our 2020 graduates who were admitted to ITE Nitec courses, received the scholarship and sponsorship award from Metta Welfare Association. The award was presented by our founder, Venerable Chao Khun Fa Zhao BBM.
Our alumni, Phua Kai Jie and Dowen Tan Zhen Yuan also came back to celebrate this milestone with their juniors. Kai Jie shared that he is currently enrolled in a Higher Nitec Course. He mentioned that the skills and knowledge he acquired in Metta School have proven to be very useful for his training in ITE. Dowen thanked his teachers for being nurturing and supportive during his 10 years in Metta School. He is also appreciative to the school for nominating him for the Lee Kuan Yew Exemplary Student Award in 2018.
On 2 September, we also launched our 20th Anniversary Virtual Art Exhibition. Visual Arts is a signature programme for Metta and we wanted to showcase our students’ work, even amidst the Covid-19 safety measures.
