There are amazing career opportunities for teachers at Metta School in Singapore
Make an Impact
Every day, you are making a difference in the lives of students with special needs. You will help them learn, grow, and achieve their full potential and contribute positively to their well-being. The work will be challenging, but the rewards, in terms of personal satisfaction and the positive impact on students, will be immeasurable.
In Metta School, we have the privilege to see many of our children grow up from being wide-eyed seven-year-olds into independent young adults. Witnessing students achieve milestones and overcome obstacles is deeply gratifying.
It is a career that will provide you with a strong sense of fulfilment and purpose.
Career Growth
Every interaction with students, caregivers, allied professionals, and partners is an opportunity for significant professional growth. You have the option of moving laterally between programmes (subject to vacancies) to better understand different disability profiles. The learning extends beyond the school to the wider community of SPED schools when best practices are shared and you can learn from the best in the fraternity. Educators who have the expertise and are passionate about mentoring beginning teachers will have the opportunity to move up the “Teaching” track.
You can also progress up the “Leadership” track to take on management roles. With a greater sphere of influence, you will make an even more substantial and lasting impact on the students.
Mentorship
Beginning teachers will receive mentoring from Senior Teachers, to help you develop your teaching skills, classroom management, and instructional strategies. Support is individualized and tailored to the specific needs of each educator. Such personalized guidance helps you address your weaknesses and build on your strengths, ultimately making you more effective in the classroom. Beginning teachers can be more confident, knowing that you have a mentor to turn to for guidance and support.
Education is an ever-evolving field, with new research, evidence-based practices, and technologies constantly emerging. Mentoring can help you stay current and enhance your competency.
With mentoring, there is a culture of collaboration and support among our educators. You learn from one another, share ideas, and work together to solve problems. You will have a sense of belonging within the school “family”.
